Facebook, a site even a 5 year old knows and is keen to join. It is the most popular social networking site which has always assured its users of privacy, secrecy and fast updates on their friends. The users all round the world can stay in constant touch with their friends, no matter how far apart they are. With the introduction of Facebook mobile apps the life became even more convenient and the popularity of this social site increased tenth folds.
However, when the makers and designers of Facebook came up with the irreversible timeline interface, the loyal users were not quite happy with it. Many wanted the old interface back. It took a lot of time by the user to adjust or get used to this interface while most simply compromised. Timeline does have some annoying habits. For one, there are two columns and the posts just randomly jump from left to right and right to left, making it very convenient for the users to miss any post.

Facebook’s main aim was that people could stay in touch with their friends and know all their updates with just a click. Well, timeline sort of destroyed that. There is no logic or order behind the arrangement of information and it is certainly not easier or fun to get updates of your friends.

But we guess even Mark Zuckerberg did not enjoy these issues and finally ordered the designers and programmers to come out with more suitable and convenient timeline interface. So as the year began, even Facebook decided to launch the updated version of the timeline, which is easier, interesting, interactive and exciting.
The new timeline has ‘fixed’ columns so that the updates do not ‘swap’ and the user does not miss anything of importance. The space has now been managed in a more organized way and now it actually looks like that the designers had a clear idea what they were going for.

The information boxes have been made bigger and more interactive. Things have been made user friendly in such a way that the user actually finds what they are looking for instead of wasting hours and still remaining confused.
All communication from friends and status updates has been placed in the left-hand side column. This left side column has been made larger to place greater emphasis on messages, with the right hand side now made smaller as a result. For example, the Friends box is now 3×3 instead of 2×4.
Like all the previous versions and updates, Facebook has just launched it in New Zealand to observe the response of the users and notice any bugs that might need fixation or improvement. Once the testing phase has passed it will be launched all over the world and the Facebook users will be able to truly enjoy Facebook.
Rest assured that we will be the first few who will update their users on this. As we, too, a equally excited about this Facebook update.
